The Swoon Shelves is a space for romance readers and authors to discover, discuss, and share the love stories they adore. These guidelines keep it welcoming for everyone.
Be kind and respectful
Treat fellow readers and authors with respect. Romance is personal: what one reader loves, another might not, and that's okay. No personal attacks, name calling, or harassment.
Keep discussions constructive
When commenting on books or participating in Swoon Club discussions, share your thoughts thoughtfully. Disagree with ideas, not people. Back up opinions with context when you can.
Use spoiler tags
Mark spoilers in comments and replies using the spoiler toggle. Not everyone has read the book you're discussing. Spoilers without tags may be removed by moderators.
Honest reviews only
Share genuine opinions about books. Coordinated review bombing, fake reviews, or review-bombing campaigns are not allowed and will be removed.
No spam or self-promotion
The Swoon Shelves is for discovering and discussing romance books. Unsolicited links, repetitive promotional posts, and spam will be removed. Authors: use the Author Dashboard to keep your listings and profile up to date.
Respect content warnings
Content warnings exist to help readers make informed choices. Don't mock or dismiss another reader's hard limits. If a book is missing a warning it should have, report it so we can update the listing.
Reporting violations
If you see a comment, discussion post, or book listing that violates these guidelines, use the report button next to the content. Our team reviews every report and takes appropriate action.
